The countries of Europe
You learn the countries of Europe by starting at the UK and working outwards.
How to find it again
- Find the United Kingdom.
- France is south of it, across the English Channel.
- Use each country you know as a step to the next.
- Germany is north-east of France, and Spain is south-west of it.
A worked example
Tap Germany.
- Start at the United Kingdom.
- Go via France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
- Look east of the Netherlands.
- That is Germany.
More examples
Tap Austria.
- Start at the United Kingdom.
- Keep going until you reach Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
- Look south-east of Germany.
- That is Austria.
Tap Spain.

Watch out
You tap Austria when Switzerland is asked.
Both are east of France. Switzerland is the small country next to France, and Austria is the longer one beyond it.
Tips
- The Netherlands is also called Holland, and Czechia is also called the Czech Republic.
- Russia and Turkey are on the map, but they are not asked in this block.
Why it works
You know the UK, so it is your first step. Each country you know is a step to the next one, so you never have to search the whole map. You walk across Europe, country by country.
