Lines on the road
You learn to spot the lines on the road: Give Way, Stop, zebra and cycle lane.
How to look in traffic
- Look at the lines across the road.
- Two broken lines mean give way.
- A solid line with a Stop sign means stop.
A worked example
Tap the Give Way line.
- Look across the lanes.
- Find two broken white lines.
- That is the Give Way line.
More examples
Where do you stop completely?
- Look for the eight-sided sign.
- Find the solid white line next to it.
- You stop at that line.
Tap the cycle lane.
- Look at the side of the road.
- A cycle lane is a red strip with a white line next to it.
- Tap that strip.
Try it yourself
This is best practised in the real exercise, where you click, drag or tap yourself.
Practise thisWatch out
You mix up the broken line and the solid line.
Broken means give way. Solid means stop.
Tips
- A zebra crossing has stripes across the whole road.
- Also look at the signs. They go together with the lines.
Why it works
Lines on the road tell you what to do before you read a sign. Two broken lines mean give way. A solid line goes with a Stop sign. Wide stripes are a zebra crossing, and a red strip is a cycle lane.
